In the end, we received a nice product, even though the first version had a nasty scratch and the sign needed to be remade.
What really caught me by surprise during the process was that the fonts offered in the online designer are only indicative, and a person will create a production mockup, apparently freehand, based on them. So caveat emptor: you really have to pay attention to the mockup to make sure it is to your liking. I had to request quite a few changes to make it look close enough to the font I had seen in the online designer.
